Sedaris.

My Collection of Sedari.
{Sedaris pluralised. Get it?}

There is one particular author that I have loved since the moment I read Dress Your Family In Corduroy and Denim. David Sedaris already had me at the title of the book. It made me laugh like the rest of his collection of hilarious short stories. They seriously will make you laugh out loud. He is one brilliant author. In most books he describes his dysfunctional family {I also follow the career of his eccentric sister Amy Sedaris!}in great detail, general upbringing in Raleigh, North Carolina, his life observations and the love of his life. I've never read anything like his style before. When I am given the chance to recommend a 'good book' he's the first author I speak of.
A couple years ago Sedaris ventured on a book tour {When You are Engulfed in Flames}at Chapters. Vancouver was one of his stops. Of course, I missed out because of a weekender in Vegas with Nick. Oh woe is me, right? I was disappointed that I was missing out on finally meeting thee David Sedaris. My most favorite author in the whole wide world.
I get another chance on Saturday, November 5th. He comes into town at The Centre for the Performing Arts. This time he ain't free! Oh well. Mom and I get to hear him speak live and hear some passages from his most recent book Squirrel Seeks Chipmunk. How fantastic will it be hearing his own words voiced by the author! My Mom became a big fan after loaning her all my books.
Should I get the opportunity I shall tell David Sedaris that I love him without sounding too desperately freaky.  And make him autograph each and every one of my treasured Sedari collection.

Thank you for the comment, Laura. I was {secretly!} hoping you were a Sedaris fan. Now I am really excited to see him in person.

I can hardly wait to see him in person! I've heard him on CBC Radio many times, and his creativity with words, gets me going immediately. It will be so much fun to share this Sedaris evening with you! My alltime fave is, Me Talk Pretty One Day! Can't wait!
