Chalkboard Meets Cupboard.

Before snap.

We live in a very small townhouse {shy of 1150 square feet!}. When entering our small abode, you immediately enter the kitchen area. Our kitchen is lacking in wall space {no space to hang a nice fabric covered bulletin board or even a wall calendar!}. I came up with a quick DIY project that would not take up any space. Utilizing one cupboard door covered with black chalkboard paint, we could use this area for lists, notes, doodles or whatever we fancy. Nick gave me his blessing to paint this small area and it only took a few hours between coats.
I heart immediate gratification projects!

My assistant demonstrates how easy it is to apply painters tape around the perimeter of the cupboard.

 First coat. Scary applying black paint to our cupboard. To be noted: the chalkboard paint was extremely smelly.

Two hours later, second coat.
{And one boy coated in chocolate cake.}

Final coat. {could use a forth coat?}

All that matters is that my little assistant loves to use it.

Great minds....yesterday as I was thinking about how long it's going to take me to complete my cupboard paint job...I thought a magnetic chalkboard under my one set of cabinets. That way I can put notes...works of art...and notes. So smart of you AAB!
