Canada Day went a little different this year {missed you Logan Clan!xo}. We embarked on a short journey to Steveston for the annual parade and Salmon Festival. We found a good watching spot and sat in our folding chairs. How I missed seeing Miss Richmond and Miss Richmond News princesses! The parade has changed a lot over the years. Large groups walking which is fine but it was too much. Who doesn't love a good parade filled with floats! I cannot believe how many familiar faces that I recognized in the massive crowds. I grew up in Richmond so there was no doubt having a few reunions. One encounter included an ex-boyfriend {oh, did I mention my face was riddled with adult acne. Isn't that always the way?}that I dated throughout high-school.
Abby really enjoyed watching the parade and wouldn't stop talking about it. Still hasn't! We walked around the festival grounds, bought a bag of cotton candy. Abby tasted it for the first time. We later played hide and seek amongst a grouping of trees and made some cool memories together as a family. Later in the evening, we had a bbq with Grandma & Grandpa B. First time we've been able to do this now that Grandpa is retired.
I think we started off July on the right footing. And did you notice, this isn't a negative post for a change?! xoxo

Sorry Hege, we parked far far away from your house! We watched it near the Community Centre! I hope you enjoyed it - so lucky having it so close to home.
