On Thursday night, we surprised my Father-in-Law Vann on his very last bus run in Richmond. Bay #7 to be exact. This was his last night being a bus driver after 20 years of service. How could we not pass up such an opportunity for a wee surprise! Little did he know we {Nick, the kids and my Mother-in-Law!} were all waiting patiently for his arrival via the 410 Bus at 8:15pm. He saw us right away, yellow sign and happy smiles. My heart was beating quickly as it was all too exciting. We told him that we will be joining him on his last run. Abby was happy to sit directly behind her Grandpa and watching the world outside by. Hudson content in stroller, well past his bedtime. It all worked out splendidly. How I love surprising people that I love. Congratulations Vann/Grandpa - enjoy your next chapter in life! We felt very privileged having spent your last run with you. xoxo

Oh, the last picture..... There he walks to his retirement and beside him: the future! How touching.
Love from Marion.
I love this blog about Vann. Such a perfect ending to his career. He'll never forget it that's for sure.
Love Marion's comment, so true!
