My Saturday Surprise.

 Me sporting MLS merchandise. {I know. Stop the presses.}

Happy Husband.

Singing 'Oh Canada' {Cool fact: the woman who now sings for all the home games also sang at my sister Amy's wedding!}

 This shot was taken for Hege. Can you spot your husband? Sorry M is hidden from view!

 Amazing extra time action - two goals in two minutes making it 3 - 3 against Kansas.

 Vancouver downtown scenes from the car. En route to the hotel.

 Hotel Vancouver reflection in another building.

 When in doubt, use the self-portrait shot. Thanks bathroom mirror.

 Dinner at the Tea House, Fergeuson Point, Stanley Park. Duck leg confit for me, Fraser Valley pork chop for Nick. Plus a glass of champagne & marinated olives before dinner was served.

Sunday morning, Burrard Street. I've always been drawn to this building called the Dal Grauer Substation. This shot will become the cover of Nick's new album{kidding}. I love this picture of him.

This cup sums it all up.

Nick surprised me with a night away for my birthday. A long time ago I remarked that I would love to spend a night downtown. He actually was listening this time! All week he was acting like a Cheshire cat - I could just tell in his behaviour. Plus on Friday, he did all our laundry. That was the big tip off! By Friday night, he told me that he booked a room at the Century Plaza Hotel post Whitecaps game. And dinner at the Tea House to boot! We don't get out much and spending 24 hours together sans kids was a very exciting proposition. It was the best birthday present ever. {Thank you to Grandma B who volunteered to watch two kids with a very hurt shoulder...they had a wonderful time too!} It was lovely to reconnect with uninterrupted conversation, sharing many laughs, holding hands and being a couple. Of course, sometimes the best part is coming home to really excited kids. xoxo

Ps. Happy April, Happy Spring everyone!
