Today was a very good day for Nick. It's his actual birthday on Monday. He really{understatement!} wanted a Whitecaps jersey to wear during the Whitecaps inaugural MLS season. That's all he wanted for this birthday. I noted an 'IOU' on a magazine and sadly remarked that all jerseys were sold out around the city. He didn't want to hear such news as we were about to depart for the game. I couldn't let him pout, so like a sleight of hands magician, I pulled out a bag containing a long sleeved jersey. Ta Da! Needless to say, my soccer playing husband was really ecstatic.
PS.Whitecaps won their first game of the season. 4 - 2 against Toronto FC. As a non-sports watcher, I quite enjoyed myself. 25k pumped crowd, warm sun on our faces, good seats, fun season ticket neighbors. Nick asked me whether I would feel the same if it was pouring rain. Hmmmm...perhaps not. He knows me quite well, that man.

Aw, isn't that just the best when you can pull something off like that and make your "other" (as in hubby, kids, siblings etc.) so very happy?
Ooops, I did it again... I failed to wish Nick a very happy birthday! Hopefully Kirb caught him on FB?
