One Last Post of 2007!

A photo was taken on Boxing Day. It was not digitally enhanced and was taken by my Mom. Here is Amy opening her gift (a funky laptop bag!) from Cathy and removing the tissue paper. At first I didn't notice anything different until I looked again. ;-)
Just leaving you with a good laugh on the last day of the year!
I am wishing you all a Very Happy New Year. Here's to good health, happiness, impromtu moments, making memories, laughter and a fabulous year ahead.

Christmas Eve

Christmas Morning

Christmas Day and Boxing Day

Abby and Jayden

Happy Kids - 2007

What a difference a year makes - Christmas 2006

Jayden James (aka Abby's boyfriend) came for a visit with his parents, Julie & Derek, on Friday night. It was pure delight watching Abby and Jayden interact with each other. Jayden showed off his new walking abililites to which Abby took much interest.
It's amazing to us how they have grown over the past year becoming these fun interactive little people. We did more running after them than eating appies but it was certainly worth it!!

14 Months Old

Abby has eyes for Papa.

Happy Abby

Abby, you are 14 months old today. It's almost Christmas, we are soon celebrating your second one. Last year really didn't count as you were two months old.
Daddy and I are having so much fun with you. Hands down this is the best stage! How you make us laugh daily. And how your mood is rarely a sour one. You tend to cry when we pull you out of the bathtub to change you or in the middle of the night. ("Daaaaaddy" or "UP" or "Bye-bye" are your midnight words of choice!)
You are constantly learning and like a sponge taking it all in. We taught you the sound of a clock (tic tock) as you wiggle your index finger back and forth to the tic tock sound.
You are crawling like nobody's business and prefer to crawl up on to the couch.
You can pull yourself up and slowly cruising. You are becoming more confident on your feet.
You love when Daddy brushes your teeth in the bathtub. You lean your head right back as we sing Raffi's "Brush your Teeth" song together.
Your hair is growing in thick and the color is turning to auburn.
You are learning to say your name, thanks to Nanny who taught you this weekend.
You enjoy your Grover book nightly as Daddy makes his Grover voice.
Last night we put the Christmas tree up. At press time could care less about it. You softly touch the needles and quickly move on to your interesting toys. (let's hope it stays this way!)
We love you so much Abby... you are our shining light.
XOXO

Daddy's Little Girl

Grandma B, Abby, Wendy and Lucy

Waking up from long nap (cold air helps!)

Table for Two

Abby touching each & every book

These photos were taken today - a snowy cold day as we enter the official countown to Christmas. Wow, Christmas! In 24 short days! We warmly bundled ourselves and met up with Wendy, Jose and Miss Lucy this morning. It was freezing walking in the cold weather - the wind felt like Arctic air! Later we 'dethawed' at Grandma & Grandpa's house warming our fingers and toes. And fed the girls snacks before heading home.
Besides preparing for Christmas, our household is busy. Working full time has changed our down-time. Our weekends are devoted to cleaning, laundry, and general household responsiblilites. It's been a balancing act. We especially love weekend mornings now. It's relaxing and we bring Abby into bed with us. Of course, she's wide awake and ready to face the day!
In the course of a month, Abby has really progressed. From pulling herself up on her knees (Nov 1st) to pulling herself up (Nov 18th) over a laundry basket, and now standing up in her crib (Nov 25th). She's taking her sweet time to walk and now I don't want her to grow up too quickly!
She has become 'Daddy's Little Girl' in the most literal sense of the word. Everything is Daddy Daddy Daddy! In the middle of the night she cries out for Da-Da. Wants Da-Da to hold her only and very affectionate towards Da-Da. Points to photos of Da-Da saying 'Da-Da'. Of course, this makes Nick very happy. He's the silly one and I'm serious one. Or perhaps it's the reason that Da-Da picks Abby up at daycare and spending more time together in the evenings. I enjoy watching them interact (with a little jealousy on the side!) and have fun together.
Abby is transitioning at Irene's and her days are increasingly improving. On Friday for the first time Abby reached out for Irene and shed only a few tears as I departed for work.
She is enjoying heading out for long walks with Lucy and Wendy and actually SLEEPS in the stroller! The girls are so cute together. Kissing and hugging each other. Aww....
Abby's making modified animals sounds like: Moo, Roar, Baaa, Meow, Ruff-Ruff.
She's eating up a storm. Must be a growth spurt as we don't know where she puts it! She has a long lean body like her Da-Da.
See, it's all about Da-Da! :-)
XOXO
